A cookbook with a difference, with unique recipes and the memories behind a diverse and global family of 56 people.
The Sood Family Cookbook is a beautifully illustrated book with a collection of 101 unique recipes.
The book includes wide variety of recipes, divided into nine chapters. All Day Breakfast; Home food, Comfort food; From Near and Far; Light and Healthy; When Under the Weather; Anytime Eats, Chutneys with Oomph, Sood Grog and Sweet Somethings.
Recipes consist of a mix of some of those “secret” ones which have been handed down from mothers to daughters and sons, from aunts and uncles to their nieces and nephews and from neighbours too. Also presented are some of the newer generation’s concotions and favourites.
The range of recipes are from the Kangra Valley of Himachal like Pahaadi Gadumba, Phaadi Khatta to the familiar ones, like Banoffee Pie, Spaghetti Bake from Sood kitchens all over the world. From Kashmir to Kerala and from Toronto to Perth.
The writing is friendly and chatty, with little stories about each family member. From batty aunts to OCD cousins.

From the Sood men who love to cook to some Sood women who abhor cooking. It could be a cookbook from anyone’s home—ours, yours and the author’s.

This is a book for every family, and for every young adult leaving home for college or to set up their own house anywhere in the world.
